THE GUMMIES HAVE THEIR SAY:

"Everything we listen to has an influence on our music. Our songwriting is not "devoted" to a single genre and our band doesn't have a "model". So much depends on the mood, on what we want to express. Sometimes we feel like having fun with rock'n'roll or punk, sometimes we get more melodic and "darker".

Musically there's a whole load of different things each of us listens to (Denise: alt rock/Italian rock from the '70s; Elena: punk rock/garage/soul/beat, Giulia: hard rock) and we love to move freely when we write our songs.  PJ HARVEY Naturally, we do have a few "favourite bands", namely: PJ Harvey, Led Zeppelin, and Pixies for Denise YEAH YEAH YEAHS Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, White Stripes and Velvet -underground for Elena". "If we weren't playing in the Gummies we'd love to play: Denise: in a BRAZILIAN CHORO BAND. I'd love to play the MANDOLETTO Elena: THE KILLS..ehm no I'm joking....GUMMIES FOREVER (but I'd love to be a drummer, too) Giulia: THE GUMMIES! It's my first band and...I love it!!
